Who rides free
- Children under 3: Ride free on a parent's lap, no ticket needed. Bring proof of age if your child looks borderline.
- Essential Companion: One companion of a disabled visitor rides free — book the free companion ticket alongside the disabled visitor's reduced-rate ticket. Proof of eligibility required (Blue Badge, PIP/DLA/AA letter, Access Card or recognised national disability card).
- Merlin Annual Pass holders: Unlimited free entry for 12 months to all 30+ UK Merlin attractions including the Eye, Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE London, London Dungeon, Legoland Windsor and Alton Towers. From around £179 per adult — pays for itself in 4 visits.
- Carers with proof of full-time care responsibility: Free companion ticket on the same terms as Essential Companion.
Who gets a discount
- Child 3–15 (Standard): £33 advance — significant saving versus the £37 adult rate.
- Child 3–15 (Fast-Track): £45 — Fast-Track boarding for the whole family.
- Disabled visitor: Reduced rate, varies by ticket type, with one Essential Companion free.
- Groups of 15+: ~10% discount per ticket via group booking direct on londoneye.com.
- School groups (UK schools only): Significant educational discount via the official site's Education section.
- Combination tickets (Eye + other Merlin attractions): Save up to 40% versus separate entry.
Note: Unlike European museums, there is no general free policy for students, seniors or EU residents at the London Eye.
